Why these tools don't use AI
Every tool on this page runs on fixed, explainable rules — keyword frequency counts, date-range math, character-encoding fixes — not a language model guessing at your resume. That's a deliberate choice, not a limitation we're working around: rule-based tools give the same input the same output every time, they don't depend on a metered API that could change pricing or behavior later, and there's nothing to "hallucinate." When a tool tells you a keyword is missing or a date gap exists, that's a fact about the text you gave it, not a probabilistic guess.
FAQ
Do I need to build a resume in Craftume to use these tools?
No. Most of them accept a pasted resume or an uploaded PDF/DOCX/TXT file directly — you don't need an account or a resume already started in the builder. A few, like Skills Library and Resume Compare, work best once you have a saved resume to apply results to, but even those let you browse or copy content without one.
Is my resume stored anywhere when I use a tool?
Tools like the Formatter, PDF Optimizer, and Metadata Viewer read an uploaded file just long enough to process it and don't save it. Tools that create or check a saved resume — Checker, Timeline, ATS Scanner when uploading a file — do create a resume the same way Resume Import does, since that's what the scoring/analysis runs against.
